My recent Easter stay at Obertrauner Hof was delightful. The property exudes a warm and welcoming ambiance thanks to the friendly Brit expat proprietors who made us feel like we were visiting friends rather than staying at a hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and provided stunning views of the mountains. The location of Obertrauner Hof was ideal, offering easy access to attractions such as the Dachstein Ice and Mammoth Caves, as well as the 5Fingers viewing platform on Krippenstein mountain. We appreciated the inn's proximity to the Dachstein West Ski Area, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts like ourselves who enjoy hiking and mountain biking.Andrew and his family, who had recently taken over the property, were gracious hosts and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Breakfast was basic but satisfactory, providing us with the fuel needed to start the day exploring the picturesque Salzkammergut region.The small European-style bed & breakfast inn felt like a home away from home, with thoughtful amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities, and a cozy lounge area. We particularly enjoyed the proximity to Obertraun's amenities, including a grocery store, restaurants, and even a beach on the nearby lake.Obertrauner Hof exceeded our expectations and left us eager to return for a longer stay in the future. I highly recommend this charming inn to fellow travelers seeking a relaxing retreat in the heart of Austria's stunning countryside.
